On Tuesday I had blood drawn because my doctor reminded me that it has been 2 years since my last blood work. I do the thing you know no eating after midnight or else you have to reschedule. I got poked twice because come to find out my left arm is not as good as my right for getting blood. I have a small bruise, but nothing like what happened to me maybe 7 years ago, but why digress to that time period though I must say I am still upset with that nurse.
Wednesday I got the sometimes dreadful phone call from the doctor's office with my results. The nurse on the other end of the line said that everything was fine; however, my blood sugar was high. At this point I am thinking to myself "high? I checked it myself before going to the doctor and it was fine and now I'm being told that it was high." The nurse went on to say that it was 104 (now wait a minute when did that become high?) she explained what "normal" is which apparently to this doctor is anything lower than 100. (I wonder what he would say if he saw the blood sugars that I see on a daily basis at my facility.) I was then told what to watch (like I'm going to give up chocolate-my best friend no way).
I hung up the phone with a sigh and looked to "my best friend" and laughed "what a quack" as I ate that piece of chocolate.
I wonder "Do you think those 3 Carmel Delight Girl Scout cookies at 11:59pm had anything to do with it?" Nah
