How would You feel?

This started on Sunday of this week.

I had a resident who was dying ( I will not get into the details of this) and as any good person would you listen to the family and give support.

I was working on another hall passing medication and such when one of the family members came down the hall and sat just to get out of the room. I was friendly talked to him about his mother and then he made a comment about working on this other hall. I stated that I worked basically all the halls because at night I need to know every resident because we work with a smaller staff.

Fast Forward.

A little later I walk by said family member to go back to the nurses station for something when he makes a comment. "What you're not married?" I said "No, still looking. He'll come along." Then he says "You're a good looking woman." Me being polite said thanks and walked on. A few minutes later he walks by and says "Don't tell my wife I said that." (I feel a bit uncomfortable here.)

Fast Forward again.

More towards morning I am looking at the medication that I have to pass out and he approaches. He's saying that he appreciates all that we have done; to never change. I being supportive and thinking that he is talking about the facility put my arm around him and say thanks and that his mother is a joy to take care of. He walks away only to turn around and say to me again "If I wasn't married I would be at your door". (I'm feeling really uncomfortable now and to the point that I am trying to think of a way to get pills out with out causing him to stare at me.)

Fast Forward yet again.

Two days later his mom is still living and I just feel uncomfortable. I'm finding myself avoiding being alone and away from him. I would see him coming down the hall and I would duck into a room to hide. I went into his mother's room only if I had someone accompany me. He would come to the nurses station and lean on the counter right in front of me trying to get my attention. Finally at one point in the night I had a headache and he comes up to the desk and asks me "Have I done something to get you mad at me?". (I'm thinking what is this Fatal Attraction; the jealous boyfriend; and buddy you've got a wife and she's in the room with your mother.)

The maintenance lady comes in and I tell her a bit of what has been happening. She is beside herself with what has been going on. I am about to leave work and I know I saw him walking towards the front doors which happens to be the way to the parking lot. I look at her and say he's outside and she tells me no I just let him in. I said he just walked back up towards the doors. Well she walked me out only to find out he was sitting in the lobby just inside the doors.

This morning I get to talking to her again and she told me that when she walked back in yesterday she watched him to make sure he didn't do anything. Well, he stood up and watched me through the windows. She said that really bothered her and she said something to her boss. Then her boss told the administrator and the DON (Director of Nursing). Nothing has been said to me as of yet. I think they should at least ask me what the deal was and to tell me that if I ever feel uncomfortable like that again to let them know.

I've been stalked in the past and I'm not about to let that happen again. I am a bit afraid that is guy could start coming around and he has no business being there anymore.

So how would you feel?
