I was not truly sure of a title so that is what I could best come up with.
I have been speaking to a couple of friends at work about going back to get my RN schooling and liscense. I had been working on it through The College Network however with the grief that I was receiving I decided that it was best to quit that and try another avenue. I had received a letter back in March from IVY Tech of Wabash Valley (Terre Haute) stating that they are working with Indiana State University for LPN to BS. I'm in the process of asking a few questions before I proceed with that. I am even thinking that I might re talk with IVY Tech in Lafayette about even getting my Associates through them. I was only thinking about online classes so that I would not have to quit work to go back to school. I believe that this is the calling that I am receiving from God. I can also hear my dad saying "Why didn't you do this in the first place?" The answer stems way back to high school....guidance counselors then did not push Ivy Tech just the universities; I got upset with the dept. head when I did decide to go back to school to get my nursing because she was talking out both sides of her mouth. I am now a few years older and hopefully a little more level headed to get this done. Do not get me wrong I like my job but I do not see any advancement working in a nursing home with my LPN. My dream is to one day work in surgery....of course to do that I need my RN at least.
I have to thank my friend and coworker Janel for encouraging me to watch one of the best movies that I have seen in a while. I watched Facing the Giants I cried for the entire length of the movie and not just silent tears but full fledged sobs. The whole theme is that "With God all things are possible"

Time
How time flies when you are doing absolutely nothing. I am like literally doing nothing of true importance. Sure I'm catching up on shows that I have taped but no time to watch, but other than that NOTHING. This is my week to be lazy before heading back to work Monday night (eerr). Ok, don't get me wrong I like my job to an extent just like other people, but for now it works for me except for working nights, but again you could not pay me enough to go to day shift at this place....more work less money. I work nights so I get a shift differential (more money), but it can be difficult at times because of certain situations that my facility puts us night crew through. I am not going to mention anything specific but it is not a pretty sight on a lot of nights.
My crew works pretty well together though some have a different opinion of being saved and going to heaven than I do. I have a couple of workers that think just because they do good deeds they are ok. I have another who thinks and has even stated to me 'God and I have a deal He does His thing and I do mine'...what kind of thinking is that. I have a lot of witnessing opportunities with those three, but they have their minds set. I can tell you that on my last night before I took this vacation I was attempting to explain that not all movies are appropriate to see and if you do watch them be careful with the humor. I am even careful with movie titles....if the movie title is a bit ify ( I know that is not a word but I like it) the movie will be to.
Speaking of movies.. the movie Boogie Nights can sound harmless, but be careful. When Boogie Nights first came out I went with a guy to see it and I just wanted to crawl under my chair. I remember thinking "How can I slip out of here and call a taxi to take me back to my apartment?". The guy "apologized" for the kind of movie it was but I did not take his apology seriously and that is why the word is in quotes. How can a guy apologize and say that we could have left when he was sitting there laughing at the movie? My coworkers keep talking about "American Pie- The Naked Mile"... I have to admit that I never saw the movie but two things "American Pie" and the word "Naked". I have to admit that I do own the first three American Pies but I believe that after those you really need to be careful 1) because of titles (again) American Pie (the 1st) mentions about "band camp" the fourth American Pie is titled "Band Camp" if you've seen the first you can guess what that movie is about and 2) again the title for the 5th "The Naked Mile" think about that one.... what could it be about? It seems my coworkers have a thing about some of the most obnoxious movies that should never have been made, but hey Hollywood does not know how to make decent movies anymore. I know this is not the 1950's but we need to have some decency and not be showing everything..... what happened to our imaginations?
