Some know about the situation at work.

About two weeks ago, if I remember correctly, a note was posted at work about the loss of 10 and 12 hour shifts. That affects me because I work 12 hour shifts and the benefit of this is less days working and savings of gas. I had known that there were going to be changes at work because of an initial posting stating some room changes. I really had not put much thought into the possibility of losing my job, but there was an inkling because with these room changes we were losing a hall. Well, I received a call from a coworker about the hour changes and I had already requested a meeting with my supervisor to question if my job was in jeopardy among some other things. My question was answered before the meeting. Initially, it was to be that the changes were to take place April 1, but have since been pushed back to April 15. There are limited jobs now available and so many nurses in the facility. I figured 1) instead of chancing the possibility of being let go and 2) the rise of gas prices that I should look elsewhere for a job and preferably within the same company so that I do not lose my insurance.

Now with the clock ticking my last day is April 13 ( I decided to fulfull my weekend duty) I have to make a tough decision. I have been offered two jobs 1) with a facility 5-10 min away from the apartment ( I will be a night shift supervisor, make just a few pennies more, but it will look great on my resume) 2) a facility on the west side (they actually wanted me to start tonight (whoa) but it will be extremely easy work (far easier than what I do now). I also received a phone call from a place that I had interviewed before but I am just not sure if I want to be on the phone all the time. Facility #1 will be every other weekend for awhile then can be a Sun-Thurs or a M-F #2 is a M-F unless the weekend option nurse does not pan out then I will be back to every other weekend and option #3 is definitely a M-F no weekend and no holidays.

Ugh!
